In 2006 SDP initiated the development and implementation of a Global HIV/AIDS Curriculum that takes students beyond the biological and physiological impact of HIV/AIDS. The curriculum places individuals into cultures and situations that shed light on how and why this pandemic has become the killer it is today. There are three main issues we discuss in the curriculum using various media and interactive teaching tools.
We have developed this curriculum over the last two years, compiling teacher and student feedback to develop the most engaging experience possible. Please feel free to download (below) the curriculum for either high school and/or middle school aged youth, and consider whether this is an appropriate presentation for your class, youth group, club, or organization.
We want to hear what you thought about our time together in your class, club, or youth group. Please check out our blog and leave us comments, suggestions, or questions. The first step towards us coming together for change is conversation. Please keep discussing these issues and don't be scared to ask the difficult questions. We hope that the blog will be a forum for these issues to be discussed and your questions to be answered. We will be checking often, ready to find answers and face this difficult issue together.
