Cura Homes Orphanage Project

Cura, Kiambu District
Kenya

The Cura Village is a community development project sponsored by Rotary Nairobi and the Anglican Church, located in the Kiambu District outside of Nairobi, Kenya. In January 2006 the project opened an orphanage for AIDS orphans by enrolling its first 20 students, sponsored by Slum Doctor Programme.

Our support provides shelter, food and medical care to the orphans and helps pay for staff and operating expenses at the facility. It is our intention to create a sustainable project that addresses the root social issues related to HIV/AIDS—poverty and education—while giving 20 orphan children a better future.
